The cost of higher education pushes degrees out of reach for far too many and chokes the talent pipeline. To drive down costs and unleash opportunity, we must work together to empower students as educated consumers and make financial aid available to all learners throughout their lives. As a policymaker, you can change lives and make education more accessible for learners in your state. https://bit.ly/459pVun

Not because of the diploma hanging on my wall, but because of the person who sits at my desk; i’m pro-higher education. Let me be more specific- I’m pro- character formation-focused higher education. While the “school of hard knocks” can teach you a lot, the pressure, responsibility, and accountability brought about by high academic and integrity standards are unmatched. Yes, affordability and accessibility are important. Don’t get me wrong. But if we focus only on how gaining a college education affects our bank account, we miss out on what is potentially its most valuable ROI. Character. Learning how to manage your time, live with other people who are different than you, gain mentors, research, collaborate, fail, manage money, and invest in deep friendships—that can all happen at collegeNot every college, though. But Boyce College is still worth it, Gen Z. Get your marketplace degree with a biblical worldview and confessional theological education. You don’t have to sacrifice on the quality of either. So come get your business degree, and don’t make it your goal to be a “hustle mindset” millionaire, but rather a gold-standard educated professional who also deeply knows Christ, the Bible, and how to apply it to your life. You’re going to need it. And with the right place, and God’s grace, you can become one of the few who leave college still holding fast to their faith. Because that’s worth more than any salary you could earn, college (to me) is still worth it.

Gen Z is NOT the threat! The misguided leadership at Colleges and Universities is a threat to American Innovation and Progress.Funny, there are now questions about Claudine Gay's dissertation. Why were these not adjudicated when she was being considered for the leadership position at Harvard? She checked all the boxes so nobody cared. She has now updated her dissertation.Tenure for college professors needs to be reformed. Let's subject college professors to the same rigors senior corporate leadership are subjected to.Enrollment at Colleges and Universities will continue to decline.Enrollment for Certifications will continue to increase. Many certifications provide similar or better access than college. Many of you may disagree with me. Share your thoughts and I will respond.

Some good discussion questions in this article. Does it make sense to even move forward with action items if your institution does not have consistent definitions, assessment rubrics, and consensus on student outcomes?

Transfer credit transparency is more important than ever. With almost 40% of all students transferring during their college careers, it's imperative we find better ways to serve these students--not only in practice, but in policy.
