into this for quite sometime. this back and forth started shortly after firefighter and the other driver got into an accident and it all quickly escalated. >> he an intense confrontation. now the focus of a sweeping investigation involving an alameda county firefighter. firefighter was off-duty when he was recorded by the driver after an accident in lodi. the video posted on tiktok friday know, i i about but do not work drivers says several times that the firefighters spit on him. the fire fire can be heard hurling racial slurs and profanity at the driver attacking his ethnicity, his job, and he's driving on monday. incident has sparked understandable concern. and i want to address it directly with transparency and

accountability. alameda county fire chief william mcdonald addressing the situation saying that the firefighter who has not been identified has been placed on paid administrative leave. >> i want to sincerely apologize on behalf of the firefighter in our department his actions. what you saw on the video does not in any way reflect their dedication to integrity, professionalism and community trust. >> the chief adding action is already underway and the department. >> so you're probably wondering what is being done. cfd is taking a critical look inward and assessing where we are with our training and our guidance for personnel in organizational culture. we are taking immediate steps to improve relationships with our community, improving enhanced sensitivity training for all of our members of the department. additionally, we are implementing mechanisms to measure progress in fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment. >> and there is this. the chief stressed that they all made. the county fire

department is searching for a hit and run driver. around 8.15, monday morning. a man pushing his young child in a stroller was struck by a vehicle here. the intersection of dover and alcatraz avenue. the 2 were apparently in the crosswalk when they were hit. i a crash. i heard a scream. i heard baby cry. linda living bomb was in her home at the time of the crash and could see the intersection outside her window. i looked out and i saw stroller. >> and the student. according to police, the father was uninjured, but his child was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. >> police say the suspect vehicle, which they described only as a sedan, fled south along dover street. the driver is believed to be an adult male. alcatraz is like sometimes like a freeway. linda says she would like to see the city make some safety improvements at this intersection. people do not stop. even cleared. marked crosswalk right out berkley police are asking drivers and

started, but the owner says they are now working to rebuild the supervisor. writing in part, we are grateful to albert his family tenants and employees that they're all ok, my office will do everything we can to assist albert and reopening his store. so great wall hardware can continue serving the sunset community. and if you want to support the child families so they can rebuild this hardware store. there's gofundme that set up. we're looking at it live here on the screen right now. and the san francisco part apartment had to force entry into an apartment this morning because of a fire. this happened in the soma neighborhood near fulsome and 6th. one person had to be rescued through a window. firefighters say a sprinkler contained the fire to just one room. the cause of the fire is under investigation. all right. as we kick off the week, we're looking at the fog making a comeback here across the golden gate bridge. we have. >> cuyler back in the weather center with this afternoon to talk what's going on this week. it's going to be warm.

hey there. yeah, we've got a warm run monday tuesday, wednesday. then we're going to cool it down again as we head towards the weekend and then warming up again. >> as we get into our labor day week. so starting on monday. but today, blue skies, beautiful out there. i just checked of downtown san francisco gauges at 75 degrees. the one that's around dolores park is at 80 degrees. but check out some of these numbers here. oakland right now at 86 san jose. up to 91, same story in livermore. so we're starting to warm up a bit there. 90 in concord, santa rose at 91 half moon bay's a very different story for one reason that i'm sure you can guess. and that is because we've got some marine layer that's been hanging out there all day. in fact, half moon bay, 7 degrees cooler than they were this time yesterday. a stark difference from everywhere else around the bay area which is running warmer than it was 24 hours ago. in fact, if you're in a spot like livermore, you're 9 degrees warmer. so, you know, that's a big difference. but take a look here. this is why we're cooler at the coast and still shrouded in clouds at the golden gate bridge. you can see it right there. they've been hanging on to that marine layer and that

will change as we get later into this week. but for today, at least that's the take a look at stormtracker 4. you can see that. there. it is a little bit of marine layer kind of hang out right at the coast. as we zoom out, start to see this little bit of ridge of high pressure that's going to be building in and that means the temperatures are going to stay warm as that builds tomorrow will be the peak of that heat for those inland. and i do think inner east they will be the warmest spot. but north and south. but you'll get up in those low to mid-nineties as well. same story on wednesday. just pull it back. a couple of degrees and then everything changes. i'll have more details coming up. >> thank you. developing news now out of the east bay where police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place at a homeless shelter berkeley berkley. police officers say they arrived to the harrison house shelter and discovered a man inside had been shot. the victim did not survive the suspected shooter has not been caught. palais how police are investigating a string of dangerous sideshows

500 participating cars. video shows participants creating a ring of fire for people to jump in and out of cars did donuts around them. things took a turn at the intersection of lewis brown road and bw william's drive. when shots rang out. police say when they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. it tried to save him, but he died at the scene. another victim is currently in critical condition after being shot at another location about 3 miles away. no arrests have been made for the 2 shootings. police say they also got into a pursuit with one of the cars at the side show. it ended in hercules 4 people got out of the car and ran and then officers found a 10 foot python inside the car. multiple agencies assisted with locating them. police arrested the driver for reckless driving obstruction and involvement in a sideshow. 3 passengers received misdemeanor citations and released at the scene. the car was towed in the python was

like between here in vegas, there's you get into that part of this year where it's really high up in really remote. but obviously the next few days we're not looking out for any snow. they're looking for sunshine. it's nice temperatures. so what's going on here is we've got a little high pressure that's going building in as that build in. we start to warm up now. eventually that starts to move on. so by thursday, some low pressure starts dipping in. and as that moves in, we start to cool down and that will be the difference, right. and what's going on. having said that, let's look at these temperatures really quickly here for a look at livermore, one of my hot spots. and i do think that inner east bay will be the hottest spots. >> you can see tomorrow expecting upper 90's. so that's going to be a really hot day for those of you inland to just make sure you're ready for it. another very warm day, very similar to today as we get into wednesday. and then that's when that low pressure moves in. right? and there goes. and we roll right on back down, in fact, going to below average temperatures. so the chances of any more kind of wild sprinkles or snowflakes? not likely, as you can see take you into friday, a just tiny little chance of maybe a

guilty last week of killing 3 people also attempted murder and other crimes in oakland dating back to 2009 in april 2009, carol murdered a man in a drive-by shooting. a man tried to kill his brother who was injured. >> he also tried to murder a man a month later and then shot and killed the man who was getting out of this car and oakland. he was also the gunman in the deadly drive-by shooting from april of 2011 district attorney pamela price said that the level and scope of the violence here is outrageous. and she added that she's proud of, quote, the hard work and dedication displayed by the trial team if sentenced on all the charges, carol, could receive more than 200 years in prison. the san jose police department is getting $400,000 worth of military equipment. the department will get new rifles for patrol officers as well as the swat teams. there will also be surveillance drones, sound cannons and a bomb squad robot purchases like these have been controversial in san

jose because military grade weapons were used during protests in 2020 and that led to costly lawsuits. in national news now, fears of a wider middle east war are growing after israel struck targets across lebanon. our washington correspondent trevor shirley has the latest. top u.s. officials remain in the middle east as those tension show. no sign of letting up. >> on sunday, israel and lebanon's hezbollah launched their heaviest exchange of fire yet, obviously, this is tense. it's something we have to be concerned about. some democratic lawmakers say the white house is doing everything it can to keep the situation from becoming an all-out regional war. we're working with our jordanian partners, our saudi partners, as well as israel and some of the soft diplomacy going on with even the iranians try to keep this from escalating top u.s. defense officials, including the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, along with military forces, remain in the middle east. the u.s.

and now police believe that no one is missing. authorities called off the search after examining the tour operators records and determining the 23 people were on that trip. not 25 as first believed tropical storm hone a lashing hawaii with strong winds and lots of rain. power lines brought down this flash flooding took over parts of the big island. some parts of the island seeing 18 inches of rain today. the big part of the island, some parts of it anyway remain without power. meteorologist kyla grogan tracking that storm and a few others. yes, was a category one when it passed to the south of hawaii. and the thing is we've got more on the way you can see hurricane gilma. >> now a category 2 right here in behind it. tropical storm hector. so to say the pacific is getting active is an understatement. obviously they don't need any more rain right now, but they don't have a choice because by the time we

get to the weekend, we're going to be talking about the impacts of hurricane gilma again now category 2. and you can see that it is going to lose a little bit of strength as it starts to work its way towards hawaii. but right now looks like it will pass just to the north. and remember the one that just passed as a category one pass to the south of it. it doesn't have to be a direct hit to have such impact. so by thursday, we'll start hear some of the impacts of this. now, the one that is behind that tropical storm, that one is still a little too early to say exactly what's going to happen with that. but here's what we know. they don't need the additional rain and we've got more rainfall on the way. and this is just the beginning of it because this just covers the next few days, not even the weekend. now, here's one thing. that's a positive thing for hawaii's that they have had some pretty severe drought conditions. obviously, this will help that. but when you get it too fast, it's just unfortunate because you want the rain. you just don't want to cause those big, huge problem. so that's going keep an eye on. meanwhile, back in the bay, we've had a lot of sunshine out there, but not at the golden gate bridge. you can see folks are visiting our encountering some of that fog,
