I have animated videos that I’ve converted to live photos that were able to be used as live wallpapers on iOS 15, but now they don’t work on iOS 17. Will there be an update to fix this issue?
I spent money to buy these live wallpapers from artists and it’s a shame that they don’t work on iOS 17 because they did on iOS 15 and they work perfectly on samsung phones too.

It's a strange bug, or new setting (FPS) requirement for the live photos?? I simply don't know.
I have old live photos I used for the Lock Screen on iOS 15 and earlier that simply do not work anymore on the new iOS 17 without getting this message "Motion Not Available - Motion from this Live Photo is not supported as a wallpaper."
I tried taking a few live photos directly from my 13 Pro Max, still received the same "Motion not available" message. BUT if I took a live phone with very slow movement, the "motion" then registered as a Live Photo on the Lock screen.
Not sure exactly what the issue is, this looked like it was an issue in BETA releases (just going but old posts from July, Aug 2023) Yet, reviews on YouTube on the new iOS 17 features, this didn't seem to be an issue. Hopefully it's just a bug and it will be fixed in an upcoming software update.

I chatted and then talked on the phone with AppleCare. The *claimed* that because the 6s I took the photos on wasn't compatible with iOS 17, then the photos were no longer compatible with the feature.
Even though they worked just fine on iOS 15 on a 12 Pro.
The whole thing felt like a boilerplate, "We have to tell you something to get you off of the phone," response because they had no idea why it wasn't working and couldn't give me any technical details as to why it might not be working.
I discovered yesterday that there are Live Photos that I have taken on the 12 Pro just within the last week that don't work as live wallpaper which, of course, gives some weight to what I felt about the "answer" that they gave me.
